Satellite scanner image blocks

Depending on source data, either a monoblock or stereoblock project may be constructed.

Monoblock consists of arbitrarily overlapped satellite images and can be used for orthorectification based on an imported “external” DEM.

Stereoblock consists of the stereopairs of satellite images. It can be used for full photogrammetric processing line including 3D vectorization, DTM creation and orthomosaicking.

PHOTOMOD system supports both satellite datasets

Monoblocks and stereoblocks processing workflow:

Monoblock Stereoblock PHOTOMOD module
Step 1. Creating profile for project resources Control Panel
Define name and structure of the profile to be used for the project resource location (or connect the network profile)
Step 2. Creating satellite scanner imagery project Core
Define project name, location and coordinate system
Step 3. Scanner block formation
Recognize source data (type of sensor), add images and radiometric correction
Split block into strips if necessary Load each stereopair into separate strip
Step 4. Measuring Ground Control Points* AT
The number of points is based on the processing method and type of sensor
Step 5. Relative orientation*
Measure tie points in overlap areas
Step 6. Block adjustment* SolverS

* Scanner imagery metadata may contain interior and exterior orientation parameter values. If its accuracy is acceptable, measurement of GCPs can be excluded.
