PHOTOMOD Core — the main system shell

PHOTOMOD Core, the main shell of the PHOTOMOD system, initiates and manages an array of modules that guide the processing of your photogrammetric project through every step.

Additionally, the module is equipped with a wide range of auxiliary functions, designed to simplify and optimize project processing.

Basic PHOTOMOD Core basic capabilities:

Project creation

  • Select project type:
    - Central projection;
    - Satellite scanner imagery;
    - ADS 40/80/100.
  • Choose Coordinate system (see. Supported coordinate systems):
    - Coordinate system database supplied;
    - Edit existing coordinate systems;
    - Create new coordinate systems.

Project management

  • Edit project properties
  • Copy/delete projects
  • Backup/restore function
  • Locate projects through new “virtual folder” technology
  • Import projects from PHOTOMOD 4.x

Block formation

  • Prepare images for project (see Types and formats of source images):
    - Transform non-photogrammetric scanner images (PHOTOMOD ScanCorrect);
    - Radiometric image correction (most commonly used for 16-bit rasters);
    - Convert rasters to internal format;
    - Optional image compression;
    - Batch conversion processing.
  • Loading images and block formation:
    - Load images to strips;
    - Rotate and replace images;
    - Multiple projects can use the same images without copying ;
    - Automatically split block into strips;
    - Image correction with ImageWizard .

Camera parameter input for “Central projection” projects

  • Enter camera passport data:
    - Camera type (digital or film);
    - Principal point coordinates;
    - Focal length;
    - Film cameras — fiducial mark coordinates;
    - Distortion coefficients.
  • Copy, rename, or delete cameras
  • Assign camera to project images
  • Camera import/export

Basic project related operations

  • Interior orientation
  • Import/Export triangulation points
  • Import exterior orientation parameters from different formats (can be used for direct georeferencing or precise block layout)
  • Import interior and exterior orientation parameters from UltraCam metadata
  • Create block layout from different data sources
