Testing of GeoEye-1 imagery has confirmed very
high geometrical accuracy of images
Experts in Racurs Company have processed a test stereopair acquired by GeoEye-1 in PHOTOMOD digital photogrammetric
system. The stereopair of Hobart (Tasmania island, Australia) was processed using ground control points and without them.
Maximum XY error on the check points is 3.3 m, in case when stereopair orientation was made only by the orbital data that
corresponds to accuracy of scale 1:5000. Usage of one reference
point has excluded the systematic error and has given XY accuracy about the image resolution on the ground.
